Kings of Sorts Wiki

Appearance[]

Aya is a robot with dark brown skin and curly lavender hair often kept in braids styled into two buns. She has pointed ears and markings on her face that resemble two small blue eyebrows, a blue bridge piercing, and a labret piercing. She has two vertical lines dividing her face into three parts and light blue replaces the brown in all of her joints including her neck, knees, elbows, and fingers.

Personality[]

Not much is known about Aya's actual personality, as she has become more of a mythological being rather than a historical one.

History[]

Aya is known to have brought together four individuals, calling them "Speakers" and fighting against an unknown king.

Mythology[]

Aya has become a central figure in the major religion of Cadia. According to their their world creation story, she is believed to have been given magic by the "Love" of the Goddess "in the form of Divine Providence". The Devoted (followers of this religion) believe that beings of metal were created by "The Source" and were "A toxic synthesis of Hatred and Malice".

In this way, Aya represents something the Devoted consider pure evil being purified and blessed by the love of their Goddess. They believe the Breaking was Aya destroying "The Source" of evil in the name of The Goddess. After this victory, they say she destroyed herself "Knowing a being of metal, A being of such offense to the Goddess, Had no place in the World". In the view of the Devoted, Aya knew she was evil and could not be redeemed, and did the only responsible thing by destroying herself. Thus, the Devoted can rationalize both believing that technology is evil, and that Aya is a blessed being.

The Devoted believe their magic comes directly from Aya's destruction, and that those who do not understand this and properly appreciate their gift (in the eyes of the Devoted) are depraved and must be brought into the light. They believe that Aya, or her power, will be reborn again in one of the Devoted.
