Location[]
Central Cadia, in the Searrag Mountains. Built inside one of the mountains.
Noteable Trivia[]
- Not technically considered part of Cadia, though it is located there now. It was originally the capital of the Chaian Empire.
- As it was the capital, Baile Nan Solais was apparently a hub of activity in the Chaian Empire. It housed twenty schools, including those for technology and for magic, a number of research institutions mostly focusing on astronomy and ‘nuclear physics’, several shopping districts, 250 libraries, 13 parks, seven museums and institutes of art, hundreds of cafes and restaurants and countless other locations.
- It was powered by a combination of solar and geothermal power, with magic enhancements. They also employed waste recycling programs to preserve water and to enhance agriculture outside of the mountain.
- Though it has remained mostly dark today, due to corrosion and growth over the mobility systems, the mountain originally had a system wherein large shutters opened and closed depending on the position of the sun, allowing the mountain to be filled with natural light during the day. The shutters were made of glass, so even when they were closed, often because of cold temperatures, light would be allowed to enter the city.
- The glass of the shutters was made such that the shutters functioned as solar panels. Thus their movement was doubly useful in allowing light to enter the city and to follow the sun to allow for more energy to be collected.
- Short range teleportation was implemented in many places throughout Baile Nan Solais, including what is now known as the Altar of Solais. The nature of the teleportation system relied on stored magic, instead of magic inherent to a particular user. Thus, it was generally limited to a short area, so that the flow of magic would not be interrupted or require a change of source during travel. It was either implemented using tokens or by ‘quick transport circles,’ which functioned much like a permanent transport sigil today, in that each circle would only allow the user to transport to the corresponding circle.
- Was considered sealed since the technologic age ended, though it is now known it has held at least one resident since then.
- Allegedly houses many logs and publications from the technologic age. Their ‘libraries’ consist of technology one must interface with to retrieve ‘digital copies’ of books or other media. All media is accessible in any of the library locations, and often from other technology interfaces around the city.
- Since it has remained mostly untouched, it is likely the most accurate example of what life was like in the technologic age in the world today.
