Kings of Sorts Wiki

Location[]

A small island off the northern coast of Cadia.

Noteable Trivia[]

  • For most of known history, the island remained undisturbed by society at large. It was recently made into a resort island for rich Cadian citizens.
  • Known for its red sanded beaches. The red sand is mixed with scented oils and various potpourri mixes and is used as a spa treatment. The guest’s body is submerged in a small pool filled with the sand and oil mixture, which is then slowly stirred by spa personnel.  It is supposedly an effective way of gaining smooth skin.

The resort and spa recently built on Dashaant. Though it was known the construction would cause enormous damage to the native life on the island, the resort was exempt from environmental protection checks and native life preservation surveys. It is rumored the owners made sizable donations to a few key senators to ensure these exemptions, however the senate’s official stance on the matter is that the resort had done studies itself, and their results were enough to support the exemptions.

The resort releases confidential biannual environmental monitoring surveys to the senate, and has also therefore been exempt from governmental environmental surveys. While a few environmental activists have spoken and continue to speak out against these decisions, the island’s exclusivity and security ensures they are unable to acquire proof of wrongdoing. Also because of the exclusivity, the island is mostly unknown to those outside of the few families that own vacation homes there, making it impossible for activists to gain a foothold for their cause among the people.

The only information to be leaked from the island is the resort’s disposal of the large amounts of oil produced by the spa. The spa treatments are not reused between guests, and the used oil is siphoned into local lakes and ponds. These bodies of water have become contaminated with the mixture, causing illnesses and death in the local wildlife.
