Points of Interest[]
The General's New Towers[]
The center of the city is surrounded by eight towers, with a veranda built high in the center, connecting the towers. The New Towers are more closed off to the public than the old Towers. The domed roof over the veranda is made of several large crystalline slabs, which reflects rainbows around the city throughout the day.
The Venerable Grotto of Redemption[]
The home of the Cuibhrichte, magic users who have given up control of their magic to selected members of the General's Guard. Their position is highly honored, but they have few personal rights. The Cuibhrichte are seen as martyrs, giving up their magic for the greater good of Arsanaig. Citizens of Tarrachail travel to the grotto to pay their respects. They either leave offerings or beseeching the Cuibhrichte to hear their prayers, which they will then write on a slip of parchment and burn in their sacred, everburning fire. Generally prayers will be for children to be born without magic, or for relatives to choose to voluntarily give up their magic to be able to stay in the country. The Cuibhrichte are similar to the Preachan, in that in public they appear constantly masked, or veiled in the Cuibhrichte’s case. The groups are also both considered single entities, where personal expression is heavily discouraged.
Adamantine Performance[]
A gymnasium, home to Taarachail’s acclaimed gymnastics and track teams.
The Demon’s Holding[]
In order to ease the Tarrachailiean citizens’ fears, the Eighth General constructed a cell under the veranda of the General’s Towers to hold the demon who destroyed their old kingdom, should he ever return.
